Gully School brings learning to the streets, pavements and settlements where children live — turning waiting time into learning time and street children into students.
The harsh reality they face daily
- Every 20 seconds, a child in India drops out of school.
- 20 lakh children sleep on the streets tonight.
- ₹50 earned from begging can feel more certain than what education promises.
- 23 million girls drop out by Class 10.
Is it a crime to be born on the streets?
Instead of playing with toys, they sort through garbage. Instead of learning the alphabet, they learn to survive. Instead of dreaming big, they hope to live another day.
This must change. Gully School sets up learning centres right where children already are, with teachers, meals and a daily routine that makes school feel possible again.
